There isn't much to report today, unfortunately. Elden yelled at me a lot. Actually, I guess I wouldn't call it yelling. It's infuriating what he does, really - he doesn't raise his voice, he just gets this stern look on his face like his heart is hardened and he is disappointed. He's been doing it since I was a child, but it's worse these days. For one thing, I'm not a child anymore. It's easy for him to forget that.

Anyway, he was yelling at me because I wanted to go slower and actually look at our surroundings. As if it is so insane for someone from a city, someone who watched the world crumble, to want to appreciate nature. I get to see it so rarely these days. Today we walked through the most amazing place, and he just wanted to hurry through it. It was a sort of grove of thin trees surrounded by much larger ones, as if they were trying to keep it safe from the outside world. It had a sort of ambient bluish glow, and there were little glowing flecks floating through the air. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen, and I was hoping to have a chance to take it all in. I did get some pictures of it, but I wish we had been able to spend more time there. I could have collected samples or...
